This academic year we are pleased to introduce our young people who are the Pupil Leadership Team here at Hawes Side. These Year 6 pupils are positive advocates for our academy and represent our Hawes Side values every day. Each one was successful in their interview to become a representative of Hawes Side and we are incredibly proud of them and very much look forward to their term in office.
We asked our new leadership team a few questions, just so you could get to know them better. Questions like what do you want to be when you grow up and what is your favourite memory. Here is what they had to say.
Meet our Pupil Leadership Principals
Mia, Class 6H: My name is Mia and I believe it is important to be a good role model for the younger pupils and through my actions help them know how to act as they get older. I really love dancing and have a dream that when I leave education I will be a fashion designer. My best memory so far is when my mum and dad surprised me with our dog.
Sadie, Class 6S: My name is Sadie and I really want to use my position to help others and be a positive role model. I really love playing football and when I get older would like to go to university or play football professionally. One of the nicest memories I have is going on a cruise with my family.
Alexis, Class 6A: My name is Alexis and I believe being Principal is very important because I will represent the academy and at special events will welcome and show guest around Hawes Side. Outside of school I like to cycle and chill! I have lots of ideas of what I would like to be when I am older: beautician, nail technician, hairdresser or even a vet! One of my favourite memories is family time, in particular going to the prom and going on the rides.
Meet our Pupil Leadership Vice Principals
Layla, Class 6H: My name is Layla and just like my peers feel it is important to be a good role model. Football is my favourite thing to do outside of school and when I grow up would like to play professionally or be a hairdresser. Undoubtedly one of my best memories is when I went to Disneyland Paris.
Theo, Class 6S: My name is Theo and I am excited to help around the academy and also share my ideas. I love playing football and hope when I am an adult to play professionally. One of my best memories is family BBQ's, they are simply the best!
Tess, Class 6A: My name is Tess and I think the role of Vice Principal is important because I can help younger pupils around the academy. The role and its responsibilities links in to my chosen role as an adult as I want to be a teacher. When I am not in school I love indoor climbing and as an active person I loved making dens especially when my family visited from Scotland - perfect memory!
The Academy OPAL Ambassadors
We are all very excited about the OPAL project in the academy and transforming playtimes for our children. The staff are all invested in the programme and we are very pleased that we have been able to appoint some pupil ambassadors to engage with the initiative.
Rae and Emily from class 6H, Charlie and Martha from class 6S, Evie and Thea from class 6A
These pupils are responsible and respectful and we know they will reflect all the academy values alongside making playtimes rewarding and fun.
