On Friday evening, a wonderful group of children from Years 3, 5 and 6 braved the cold to sing at Oxford Square for the annual Christmas Tree Switch-On. Despite the chilly weather, the children performed beautifully, not only to their proud families, but also to members of the public who stopped to listen. Many commented on how fabulous they sounded and how their singing helped bring on the festive spirit.

They were a credit to the school and represented our community brilliantly.

We even got a mention from our local MP, Chris Webb.  Click here to see the FB post!

After their performance, the children were treated to a visit to Marton Institute, where they met Santa himself, received a present, and warmed up with drinks and refreshments.

Mr Dawson and all staff in attendance were incredibly proud, and it was fantastic to see over 50 children taking part.

We would also like to invite our school community to join us for another choir performance at the Town Hall on Saturday 13th December, where our Year 5 and 6 pupils will be singing again. The performance begins at 10:30am, and we would love to see as many members of our Hawes Side community there as possible. There will be additional live music, a raffle, and hopefully another visit from the big man himself. We look forward to sharing this festive occasion with you.

We were very proud of all the children who represented our academy and displayed all our values.
