Did you know cows go quack and cats go moo? We didn't either! Let's take a trip to 'Old McDonald's Mixed-Up Farm'!

This week in Mr Fleckney's English class, we have been learning about nonsense poems. At the start, we looked at what nursery rhymes we were familiar with. Many of us could suggest and sign many of them and we had a lot of fun singing them together. Mr Fleckney started reading from our new text, "What I Like". This book is a series of poems for young children, however, there is a twist, none of them make sense! This made us all laugh a lot!

As a class, Mr Fleckney tasked us with reading and decoding parts of the poem before performing them to the class, these include working on our expression, facial expressions and actions. Take a look at some of the pictures of us rehearsing and perfecting our performance. The videos are examples of what we got up to and how we performed in front of our class.

After each performance, the children appraised their own work. Some children believed they worked really well to add drama to their performance and expression, whilst recognising they needed to increase their pace and volume to improve.

Mr Fleckney said, "You made Ms Bean and I very proud. Although some of you were very nervous, by using your resilience, you shone! We have some budding performers in our midst!"
