This week year 5 received the opportunity to go to Armfield Academy to conduct a variety of scientific experiments, using the school’s laboratories and equipment, we investigated a variety of reversible and irreversible changes.

Year 5 studied the difference between physical and chemical changes within solids, liquids and gases. Support was on hand from some our wonderful ex-students who are now year 9. It was a fun and engaging afternoon, in which everyone participated well, showed respect and represented Hawes Side Academy to the highest of standards.

We are incredibly proud of them all and hope this gives them a bit of insight into what high school life will offer them in the coming years.
